Friend,
Memorial Day is a time to reflect on the many brave men and women in uniform
who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our cherished freedoms.
Their courage and selflessness is the foundation of our liberty and a daily
reminder that this great nation was built on extraordinary sacrifice.
Although we will never be able to repay the debt of gratitude we owe to our
nation’s fallen heroes, we must honor our obligation to care for the families
who bear the personal burden of their sacrifice.
To our Gold Star families, we see you and appreciate you—and we can assure you
that your loved ones’ legacies will live on.
May we all come together today as a grateful nation to honor the fallen.
