Hello, my friend. It’s Crisanta Duran.

You might be wondering how this shy little girl who grew up in Northglenn and Arvada decided to run for Colorado Attorney General.

Let’s start from the beginning. I was born in Boulder and learned how to walk on the lawns at the University of Colorado School of Law, where my Father was a student, and my Mother took care of me. Over twenty years later, I graduated from the law school with my Juris Doctorate degree.

Now, as a single parent raising my daughter, I know firsthand why powerful interests must be held accountable.  That’s what motivated me to serve in public office and ensure that the people of Colorado have a meaningful voice in the decisions that impact our state.

That drive led me to the state House, where I proudly served as the nation’s first Latina Speaker. It was an honor to speak at the Democratic National Convention in 2016 and at the White House during the Obama years.
