The aftermath of the rioting and protesting regarding the death of George Floyd has sparked many to propose radical, socialist ideas. Many are calling for the defunding of police departments while some are even proposing to abolish the whole police force.
While the mainstream media continues to focus solely on the protesting, they are failing to dive in and report on the overall radical leftist agenda that ultimately sets up conditions to have more government control.
The leftist activists controlling these protests are attempting to remake America into their own socialist Utopia. They are utilizing the Marxist tactic of using race to divide the people and if you don’t agree with them, then you’re part of the problem.
This tactic has nothing to do with the police, or with justice but only exists to tear down lawful order to create chaos. This is important to remember so that we stay away from any sort of police reform bills.
However as protests continue, state legislature are falling into this trap by beginning to take up police reform bills that would decimate police budgets and ultimately police numbers. The New York state legislature has already passed a package of reform bills which Governor Cuomo is expected to sign and many other states are expected to jump on the bandwagon.
Instead of giving in to the hard Left's socialist experiment, legislators need to come together to protect our law enforcement. While abuses of power do exist, they should be handled on a local level by the communities’ elected officials. The federal government has no constitutional jurisdiction in trying to control local police policies. This would just pave the way for a police force to follow the agenda of the federal government, rather than those of the local communities.
That is why it is so important that we continue to support our local police and keep them independent from federal government control. Our Support Your Local Police campaign has produced many materials over the years that call attention to the dangers that threaten the relationship that exists between local police and their citizens.
We urge you to follow the action items below to see how you can support your local law enforcement and keep them independent. There is no better time than now for you to show support for your local police!
