Team, we did it!
I wanted to make sure that you saw this note below from Carolyn. We can’t thank you enough for all your support.
Several days after our primary election day here in Georgia, the ballots have finally been counted and
we’re heading to the general election to take on our GOP opponent. It’s time to finish the job we started in 2018.

Great news: Today we begin our General Election Campaign and I am proud to once again be the Democratic nominee for the 7th Congressional district.
In this race, we saw historic levels of turnout. We are projecting that 85,000 people will have voted in the Democratic primary, 30% above the Republican turnout.
I just want you to know that I am so honored to have received the support of the many diverse families across our community and I will carry their stories and struggles with me in the days ahead.
I also want to congratulate my opponents in the primary on their hard-fought campaigns — they highlighted issues important to everyone in this district.
Now we turn our eyes to an election that will define the future of this country for generations.
- We must restore the basic promise that the leaders we send to Washington will work to heal what divides us and actually solve our problems.
- We must address deep-seated racial injustice, fight for access to quality, affordable health care, and equip this country to recover from the pandemic with full strength.
- We must save our democracy, both from a President who does not respect the rule of law or our democratic institutions, and here in Georgia, we must protect our basic right to vote. The first piece of legislation I will co-sponsor when I’m elected is Congressman John Lewis’ Voting Rights Advancement Act, because every vote should be counted and every voice should be heard.
The contrast with my opponent couldn’t be more stark. We won this race by bringing together a diverse coalition of middle class families who are concerned about the future of this country. Our campaign this time and last time was powered by thousands of middle class families chipping in what they could and volunteering where they could.
Rich McCormick’s win in his primary was solely because the Club for Growth, a Washington corporate special interest PAC, poured over $1 million into his race. This is precisely the problem with American politics today and these big money special interests are destroying this country.
He is supporting a President whose racist and anti-immigrant policies are tearing our country apart, who has no respect for the rule of law or our democratic institutions.
And he is pushing policies that would dismantle our health care system, cut protections for people with pre-existing conditions, and ensure that the already staggering number of uninsured in this district skyrockets.
After the last few months, we know that having quality affordable health care is crucial. We are at a critical moment of national crisis, with our economy, with our country’s ability to address coronavirus, and with our democracy.
Someday our children and grandchildren will ask us what we did in this moment when so much was at stake, and I want to be able to say — and I know you do, too — that we fought for the country we believe in.
Thank you so much for your steadfast support.
Sincerely,
Carolyn
