Rollins’s successor dropped the charges—because new evidence showed Sgt.
Finnerty didn’t lie at all.

Last year—after Rollins resigned in disgrace for political interference in
this same DA’s race—the U.S. Attorney’s office picked up the exact same charges
and indicted Sgt. Finnerty in federal court.
