The Amazon Labor Union (ALU) is calling on Amazon to recognize the Safety Bill of Rights.

Strong union action is the single most effective means of improving the quality of workers' lives. But since Amazon workers at a Staten Island warehouse voted to form the ALU on April 1, 2022, their historic action has been met with nothing but stonewalling from Amazon, which still refuses to meet or negotiate with them to this day.

Meanwhile, across Amazon warehouses, workers are being injured at alarming rates – not by accident, but by design. Amazon has built a business model that puts speed and profits above human lives. In 2023, a U.S. Senate investigation found Amazon's injury rate was more than 30% higher than the industry average. That’s not a flaw in the system – it is the system.

Amazon made over $36 billion in profits last year. Its founder is the second richest man in the world. And yet, the people who keep the company running are treated as disposable. It’s not a lack of resources. It’s a lack of respect.

But workers are not standing by. They’re fighting back.

The Amazon Labor Union is taking the lead, knowing only strong, unified union action can bring about change at a company like Amazon. That’s how workers win real gains – not just promises, but enforceable rights, safer conditions, and better lives.
