After the complete mishandling of Georgia's primary election, it's clearer than ever that we need leaders in our government who will fight to protect the voting rights of all Americans and ensure free and fair elections.

Specifically, we need more leaders like my friend Rev. Raphael Warnock.

Rev. Warnock is running for the Senate in Georgia and needs our grassroots support before the upcoming FEC end-of-quarter deadline. If you can, please split a contribution between his campaign and mine today.

It is not a coincidence that the issues that plagued Georgia's primary -- long lines and wait times and issues with voting machines and ballots across the state -- disproportionately affected Black communities. This is voter suppression and it's been going on for way too long.

We need leaders who recognize systemic racism -- and are committed to fighting it.

Rev. Warnock grew up in public housing in Savannah and serves as the senior pastor at the Atlanta church where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once preached. He's the champion we need for voting rights, civil rights, and affordable health care. He would blaze new trails for future genearations, as the first Black senator to represent Georgia, and would help the U.S. Senate look a little more like America.

This race is essential to taking back the Senate Majority.

We need to flip the Senate if we're going to remove Majority Leader Mitch McConnell from power so we can finally take action on the hundreds of important measures he's left gathering dust -- from expanding voting rights to lowering the cost of life-saving prescription drugs.

But McConnell has promised to give Rev. Warnock's opponent "the full backing of the Republican establishment" in order to hold on to this critical seat.
