Hi John,
On Friday morning, DxE activists *rescued two wounded chickens from a transport truck* heading to the Perdue-owned Petaluma Poultry slaughterhouse. We had just held an all-night vigil at the slaughterhouse where we witnessed transport trucks filled to the brim with thousands of cramped, feces-soaked chickens. While one truck was stopped, some activists opened one of the many large crates holding chickens and identified two animals with visible wounds. They took the chickens, whom they named Fern and Daisy, to get urgent medical care and shared footage of the rescue publicly.

Even as animal rescuer Zoe Rosenberg faces a felony prosecution for rescuing chickens from the same Perdue slaughterhouse, *more people are putting their freedom on the line to expose the abuse and rescue animals from unlawful cruelty.* Even as Perdue sues DxE over public protests to try to intimidate and silence us, we are getting louder and louder. We just had an entire week of protests ( [link removed] ) exposing Perdue's Petaluma Poultry! Even in the midst of so much repression and an unstable political climate, we know that the antidote to fear is action.
The Animal Liberation Conference is happening right now with bold actions, empowering trainings, and inspiring guest speakers.?Yesterday, hundreds of activists marched ( [link removed] ) through the streets of Petaluma in solidarity with animal rescuers and in support of animal liberation!
Let's keep taking action for animals!
Cassie
