Monday, May 19, 2025: Saturday, I was in Atlanta and live on XM radio with Brietbart news and Matt Boyle as we discussed news of the day before joining in on a GOP member call to discuss the budget reconciliation process. After heading to the Fox News Bureau in Atlanta where I was live on Fox News for an interview on news of the day, I head back home to the coast. Yesterday, I spoke at the Tybee Community Gathering on Tybee Island as I brought them up to date on news from Washington including the budget reconciliation vote that will be taking place this week. Later, I headed to the Savannah-Hilton Head International airport for my return trip to Washington. Once back at the Capitol last night, I head to a rare Sunday night committee meeting as we had a Budget Committee meeting where we voted out the budget reconciliation bill, known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) that failed in our committee last Friday. This morning, I join in on a GOP Conference member call where we discuss the OBBBA and our schedule for this week. Later, I head to the House Chamber where I pay tribute to Visit Savannah and Visit Tybee Island for receiving national recognition for their exceptional tourism marketing, the Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay Fire and Emergency Services, Camden County Deputy Sheriff John Arthur Hazelton who was recently enshrined on the National Law Enforcement Memorial Wall, and Savannahians Camille O’Neil, Otis Johnson and John White, Sr. who were recently recognized by Senior Citizen, Inc. Once back in our office, I join in on a district staff call before heading to the White House Rose Garden where I am honored to take part in the signing of the Take It Down Act by President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump. Once back in our office I have a series of staff meetings, including with communications staff, scheduling staff and legislative staff before heading to our weekly Whip Team meeting. Next, I head to the House Chamber for our first vote series of the week and remain afterwards to pay tribute to Emmitt Nolan on our staff who, after ten years of outstanding service to the constituents of the First District, is changing careers. Afterwards, I head off Capitol Hill where I join the American Council of Engineering Companies of Georgia (ACEC Georgia) for a meeting.

Tuesday, May 20, 2025: I’m up early and on Newsmax live this morning as we discuss the OBBBA and news of the day. Next, I head to our weekly GOP Conference that begins early this week as we have a very special guest this morning, President Donald J. Trump. The President offers his endorsement and support for the OBBBA and addresses some of the few remaining points of contention among our conference. After the 2 & ½ hour meeting, I head to a meeting with Rheem Manufacturing to learn more of their water heating and air conditioning operations before heading to an Energy and Commerce (E&C) Environment Subcommittee hearing where we hear from my former congressional colleague and good friend, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin. Once back in our office, I meet with the Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI), before heading to the Capitol Visitors Center (CVC) where I speak to the Food is Medicine Institute from Tufts University. Next, I head off Capitol Hill to meet with the Outsourcing Facilities Association before heading to the House Chamber for our first vote series of the day. Afterwards, I head to the White House for a meeting with the President’s staff to discuss upcoming issues before heading back to our office to meet with NORPAC, a group committed to supporting the U.S.-Israel relationship. After our second series of votes, I head off Capitol Hill for more meetings.

Wednesday, May 21, 2025: I’m live on the radio this morning with my good friend, John Fredericks, as we discuss the OBBBA and news of the day and afterwards meet with my prayer partner Joe Fowler with Common Thread ministries. Next, I head off Capitol Hill for a meeting and during the drive back to the Capitol, I join in on our all staff conference call. Once back in our office, I have a meeting with Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Chairman Mark Meador before meeting with the CEO of SK Pharmteco, Joerg Ahlgrimm. Next, I meet with leadership from GSK, another pharmaceutical company, to discuss pharmacy issues before heading off Capitol Hill. After meeting with team members from the Hyundai metaplant in Bryan County to discuss U.S. auto manufacturing, I have a virtual call with my good friend Lance Toland and House Transportation and Infrastructure (T&I) Chairman Sam Graves (R-MO) to discuss air space in and around Glynn County. Next, I meet with Speaker Mike Johnson’s Director of House Operations, Derek Harley, to discuss making Naloxone available throughout the buildings on Capitol Hill before meeting with Cynthia Fisher with Patient Rights Advocate to discuss healthcare price transparency. After a virtual call with NORM 2025 to update them on healthcare issues, I have a call with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner, Dr. Mark Makary before meeting with Civitas Networks for Health. Next, I have a virtual meeting with Westwins to discuss our country’s critical mineral supply before meeting with my good friend and former congressional colleague, Tom Price. Earlier this morning- at 1 a.m.- the rules committee started debating the OBBBA and now they finish their work around 10:30 p.m. and we head to the House Chamber for what turns out to be a full night of debate and votes.

Thursday, May 22, 2025: After remaining in the House Chamber for the entire night, we finally end up voting on the OBBBA at 6:30 this morning and passing it by one vote. After grabbing a quick shower, I head off Capitol Hill where I am honored to speak to the 2025 Class of Republican Leadership for Georgia. Afterwards, I head to the Health and Human Services (HHS) headquarters for the launch of the Portable Biocontainment Unit (PBCU) before heading back to Capitol Hill for an E&C member meeting with Elon Musk to discuss the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Once back in our office, I have a number of virtual TV interviews to discuss the passage of OBBBA, before heading back off Capitol Hill to the National Broadcasting Association (NBA) to record a couple of Public Service Announcements (PSAs). Once back in our office, I record this week’s edition of Buddy’s Briefing before meeting with Dr. Adam Bruggerman with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and later with officials from BlueBird, a great Georgia company located in Fort Valley. After a virtual interview with 11Alive in Atlanta to discuss the OBBBA, I head to the airport for my return trip home.

Friday, May 23, 2025: I had written a few weeks ago that I thought the past few weeks would be the most intense time that I have ever spent in Washington and it proved to be true. That’s why being at the Band of Brothers in Garden City and hearing an inspirational message from our leader, Pastor Kenny Grant, is so special this morning. Next, I head to downtown Savannah where I meet with Cambridge Isotope Labs, the world’s leading producer of stable-isotopes before heading to our Savannah district office to meet with Joe Ebberwein with Constrata for a telehealth demonstration. Afterwards, I head to the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Museum in Pooler, where I am honored to speak at the opening ceremony of their Memorial Day celebration. Next, I head to midtown Savannah where I meet with representatives from HCA Physician Services to discuss healthcare delivery in the area and afterwards head to HCA Children’s Hospital for a tour of their beautiful and much needed facility. Afterwards, I head back to downtown Savannah for a meeting with the UGA Small Business Development Center before meeting with Pastor Christopher Pittman of the First Bryan Baptist Church.
