Oxfam's COVID-19 Conversation Series:
World Refugee Day

LIVE: Thursday, June 18, 2020 from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m. ET

Friend–

In honor of upcoming World Refugee Day, join us to discuss the impact your support makes for refugees and migrants amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Those living in camps for refugees and displaced people, as well as people held at detention centers, are at particularly high risk in the COVID-19 pandemic. As you’ve been following our work lately, you’ve seen that Oxfam is focusing our emergency response on preventing the spread of the disease in these locations, some of world’s most vulnerable communities.

Want to know about the impact we’ve made so far together? Tune in to our next virtual conversation: COVID-19 and World Refugee Day streaming live this Thursday, June 18 at 12 p.m. ET.

In this 30-minute session, you’ll get to hear from Oxfam’s migration and protection campaign lead, Isra Chaker, and Bangladesh country director, Dipankar Datta, about:

  • The factors that put people living in crowded refugee camps and border detention facilities at a greater risk of getting sick
  • The impact of Oxfam’s work slowing the spread of the coronavirus in Cox’s Bazar, where about 855,000 Rohingya refugees live
  • Our ongoing campaigns pressuring Congress to protect the rights of undocumented and asylum-seeking families at the US-Mexico border during the pandemic

Be sure to let me know if you have specific questions or topics you'd like to see covered when you register. I look forward to our call on Thursday!
