Dear John,
It’s been another chaotic week of this Administration. Donald Trump’s “death bill” is moving through Congress after a narrow passage in the House of Representatives.
The single vote victory came in the dead of night, because Republicans don’t want anyone to know the details — and may, in fact, be ashamed of this bill.
And they should be. People are going to die. The Congressional Budget Office came out with figures that showed how the legislation would make the poorer much poorer. Medicaid and Medicare would both be cut drastically by this budget. It’s going to lead to a lot of people not getting healthcare, a lot of hospitals closing, and ultimately a lot of people dying.
This death bill will actively take the food out of the mouths of seniors, children, and veterans.
It’s hard to imagine what Republicans would do differently if they were actively trying to destroy the country.
But we refuse to be passive and just let them streamroll us. That’s why we are organizing events RIGHT NOW to support these vulnerable incumbents. Will you pitch in $50 or $100 or more to help support these events?

Here in California, it is frustrating to see multiple so-called “moderate” or swing seat Republicans vote in favor of this heinous budget.
❌ Rep. David Valadao
❌ Rep. Young Kim
❌ Rep. Ken Calvert
❌ Rep. Kevin Kiley
All of the above Republicans cow-towed to Donald Trump and voted for the death bill. Even just one of them could’ve stopped this. But they didn’t.
That’s why we are doing this work and fighting to flip their seats from red to blue. Already we are planning events and mobilization that will lay a groundwork for Democratic victories in 2026. But we can’t do it without you. That’s why I’m asking:
Will you pitch in $50 or $100 to fuel our movement? We need Democrats to take back control of the U.S. House to ensure we can put a check on the Trump Administration and protect healthcare, and ultimately, lives all across the country.
With gratitude,
Steve
