We're less than 150 days away from Election Day this November. But here in Texas, we're a month away from one of the most critical primaries in the state.

People First candidate Candace Valenzuela is in a tight election for Texas's 24th Congressional District, and she's counting on our support to help her cross the finish line in July.

Like Candace, Justina Machado knows the importance of having courageous leaders who will tackle the tough issues. As the central character on Netflix's One Day At a Time, Justina highlights the experience of immigrant families living in the U.S., and addresses issues like immigration, racism, and LGBTQ rights.

She's lending her voice to People First Future's first-ever grassroots fundraiser to support candidates like Candace who will fight for better health care for our families, a good education for our children, and commonsense reform to our immigration system.

Candace is ready to take on the tough issues facing Texans because she's lived them herself. She overcame incredible odds, experiencing homelessness and poverty at a young age. But with the support of a good education, Candace became an educator, mother, and champion for her community.
