Gen Z and young voters swung hard to the right in 2024—not just here in Arizona, but across the country. Why? Because right-wing podcasters and extremist groups like Turning Point USA have spent years targeting young people at their most impressionable—when they’re in high school and college.
The results are alarming. Some students are now embracing far-right, fringe ideologies—and even going so far as to invite ICE onto campuses to report classmates they suspect might be immigrants.
Let’s be clear: the far-right is actively corrupting our youth.
That’s why we’re launching a bold and aggressive effort to win them back.
We’ve created a Youth Engagement Committee that includes five of the most prominent youth-led progressive organizations in Arizona:

We’re not just giving these groups a seat at the table—we’re empowering them with real resources. We’re helping them register voters, build grassroots infrastructure, and recruit young leaders to become Democratic Precinct Committee people.
In fact, three of our current staff members are active members of these youth organizations. We’re all in—and it’s going to take all of us to prevent MAGA extremism from claiming an entire generation.
