FIRST: Sara Gideon surged into the lead against incumbent Republican Senator Susan Collins after Collins voted repeatedly to protect President Trump during his impeachment trial.

THEN: Outside Republican groups went on the attack and booked more than $7 million in negative ads against Gideon. Not great!

NOW: A new poll released yesterday shows this election narrowing to a one-point race with Susan Collins retaking the lead 48-47% — which is bad news for our fight to take back the Senate.

It’s clear the Republican’s attack blitz is working. Not just in Maine, but we’ve seen polls out of North Carolina and other states narrow, too. We cannot let them get away with buying the Senate in 2020 when we’ve come so far to put Democrats in a strong position to win. So, we’re asking:
