I know my campaign staff and I reach out to you a lot.
We ask you for your support often. And I believe you deserve to know why:
It’s because no one in this world does anything alone.
That’s a life lesson I’ve learned over and over, and it rings truer than ever as we work hand in hand to build a brighter, fairer New Mexico.
I learned this while working at the local bakery, first as a sales clerk and later as a cake decorator. Keeping the bakery humming alongside me were the bakers, the dishwashers, the delivery truck drivers, and the farmers who made our operation possible.
I saw teamwork in action again when I led the Department of the Interior. I had the honor of leading a staff of over 600,000 public servants who worked in every corner of our nation and even across the globe. Each person played their own unique and important role to advance a mission that was bigger than any one of us.
Leaning into the beauty of community is how we accomplish big things. That’s why I keep emailing to ask you to make your very first $5 donation to our campaign. This campaign can only succeed if thousands of people – including folks like you in communities across this country – pitch in what you can to make this campaign operation run.
Be fierce,
Deb
P.S. The importance of teamwork isn’t the only lesson I still live by from my days working at my local bakery. To this day, I still love to bake birthday and wedding cakes for friends and family. 🎂💛
