Asia Pacific
Praise God for the arrest of two Thai suspects involved in trafficking nine individuals from Myanmar to work in scam centers in Cambodia. Arrested by Thailand’s Department of Special Investigation (DSI), these individuals are being charged for conspiring to exploit victims for forced labor, and the DSI plans to pursue the arrest of all individuals involved. Pray for the ongoing investigation, that all perpetrators would be brought to justice and that the victims would find healing and restoration.
Africa & Europe
Praise God for His unwavering faithfulness through the six-year battle of a brave young girl who reported abuse at age 11. This week, our team in Kenya is grateful for victory in the court case against the police officer responsible for the abuse. We thank God for sustaining the young survivor and those who fought alongside her, and for exposing wrongdoing at the highest levels. May this victory bring healing to the survivor, accountability to the powerful and continued courage to those seeking justice.
Latin America
We praise God for collaboration with partners in Honduras. Last week, leaders from around the region met in Honduras to guide partners as they carry out their work to protect women and children from violence. We pray for wisdom and grace for our partners, and for God to provide even more partnerships to help us carry this important work forward.
South Asia
Pray for safety and stamina for our research partners conducting some massive studies on the scale and nature of modern slavery in our program areas. These women and men will be visiting diverse worksites and interviewing thousands of people to help us estimate the prevalence of bonded labor. Pray that God would guide their steps—allowing them to see the truth so we can leverage this data to protect millions more people.
