John, this time of year, parents all across the country are supposed to be celebrating their kids — the end of another school year, the milestones they’ve hit, and the people they’re becoming.

But for parents like me — and the families in Uvalde — this season is different.

Today, my daughter Jaime should have just graduated college. Pursue her dreams as a pediatric therapist. Plan for a bright and fruitful future. But instead, she was gunned down in her high school hallway and killed with a military-style assault rifle at just 14 years old.

The parents in Uvalde know this pain all too well — and as today marks the three years since the brutal shooting at Robb Elementary School that stole the lives of 19 children and two teachers, I hope you'll make a 5X-matched gift in their honor. I know just how painful it is to send your child to school one day and have them not return home. To plan for their funerals instead of celebrating their achievements. To mourn birthdays that will never come and graduation caps that will never be tossed.

What happened to my Jaime in Parkland — and what happened to the innocent children in Uvalde — shouldn't be our reality. We cannot let school shootings continue to be a uniquely American tragedy. And we cannot continue to fail our kids in this way.

Brady is fighting every day to stop this epidemic and protect our children — and in the years since my daughter's passing, I've made it my mission to fight alongside them to advocate for stronger gun safety laws across the country.
