Dear John,

Over 10,000 of you sent emails to Governor Jared Polis—not just to his official account, but to the inbox he likely thought was off-limits.
Hear this, Governor:  “When you attack families, parents don’t stay quiet—they get loud. And you made us loud.”

John, you showed up. You pushed back. And you gave me the courage to take the next step.

As you know, CitizenGO does far more than just sign petitions.

We are boots on the ground in these battles—confronting, pressuring, delivering petitions, showing up in courtrooms and capitols, and doing whatever it takes to ensure your voice is heard.

So yesterday, I picked up the phone and called a trusted political expert. I asked him plainly: "Where does this Colorado HB25-1312 fight go next?"

His answer came without hesitation:

“Anna, you’ve got to take this to D.C. This isn’t just about Colorado. The next states to fall in line will be Illinois, New York, and Maine.”

So I got to work.

I reached out to Congresswoman Lauren Boebert—not only because she publicly opposed the Colorado bill back in April, but also because she’s from Colorado. I want to give her the opportunity to help undo the damage her own governor just signed into law.

I also contacted a trusted friend at the American Family Association to begin exploring what a federal bill to oppose these radical laws coming out of the states might look like. We need legal minds and moral courage—and thankfully, we have both.

Just today, Boebert’s office let me know they’re working me into her schedule. It’s a start. And it’s exactly where we need to begin.

As I write this, a screen in my office shows live petition signatures. Just this minute, I saw Vanessa H. and Lonnie W. add their names, bringing the current total to 11,073 petitions signed and emails sent!

Seeing names flash across my screen is so encouraging. It reminds me that we are not alone—that thousands of Americans are still willing to stand up and hold Governor Polis, and those like him, accountable.

Here at my desk, I’m surrounded by pictures of my children, handprint crafts from my grandbabies, and the orchid my family gave me for Mother’s Day.

I’m trying to keep it alive.

The orchid, yes—but also the things that matter most:
Faith. Freedom. Family.

In the coming days, I plan to share something new from CitizenGO.
An invitation.

We’re preparing to empower, ignite, and resource CitizenGO members who are ready to go beyond signing, to stand, to act, and to lead.

Because these battles are coming faster than we can fend them off. And I know many of you are tired. Some days, I am too. Even good people grow weary when the fight seems endless.

But this is the battle our generation has been handed.

I truly believe the generations before us let us down. Too many trusted the government to fix what only conviction and courage could. And now, the very leaders we trusted, like Gov. Polis,  have betrayed us.

But it is this day, this time, and this moment we’ve been given to turn this nation around. We cannot sit back and hope someone else will do the hard things for us.

If you're still here—if you’re still signing, still praying, still giving, still showing up—you are the cream of the crop.

You know what’s at stake. You know we must win.

And I believe it will be people like you who lead the way forward.

If you’re curious about this next step, just reply to this email. We’ll first reach out to the committed group that responds, and we’ll see how it grows.

John, thank you for standing with me.
We are just getting started.

With grit and gratitude,

Anna Derbyshire, Mother. Grandmother. Fighter.

P.S. If you have any hints about keeping my orchid alive, I’d love to hear them. I’m determined to keep it growing… just like this movement. If this is work you are proud of and you have the means, please consider making a regular contribution to our movement. 5 Dollars a month means we can always keep up the fight.
