Dear John,
The tragic Edenville Dam failure in Michigan is a sad example of what can happen when infrastructure breaks down. Unfortunately, water infrastructure across the U.S. is often one bad storm away from a similar fate.
As my colleague Brian Graber told NBC News, what happened in Michigan “is not close to being an isolated incident.”
We need to invest more in repairing infrastructure and restoring rivers, but more importantly, we can’t let our guard down. The same day the Edenville Dam was failing, the Trump administration was pushing for more regulatory rollbacks. This is after three years of pressuring for more and more rollbacks of cornerstone water protections that keep our rivers, drinking water and communities safe.
Stand with us to say NO to more rollbacks. Donate today to help us fight the administration’s irresponsible push to put more of our rivers and clean water at risk.
We have a $25,000 match in June, that means every dollar you donate is doubled.
$10=$20
$25=$50
$50=$100
American Rivers is fighting to keep critical protections in place to keep our rivers and water safe, and we’re telling our leaders that more needs to be done to improve infrastructure and heal rivers across the country. But we can’t do it alone.
Will you donate today and give us 2X the support to fight for your clean water? To fight for the health and safety of communities across the country?
For the rivers,
