** On Monday, the Take It Down Act was signed by the President, bringing a landmark breakthrough in the fight to end predatory pornography.
------------------------------------------------------------

The Take it Down Act, a bipartisan bill introduced by Senators Ted Cruz and Amy Klobuchar, makes it a federal crime to post "intimate images"—real or deep-fake AI-generated—of another person online without their consent, and requires technology companies to remove any such content within 48 hours.

It was passed almost unanimously by both chambers of Congress earlier this spring and signed into law by President Trump in the Rose Garden at the White House on Monday.

At Exodus Cry, we were honored to have helped champion this law over the past few years by:
* Sitting down with lawmakers in Washington, DC, on multiple occasions, to advocate for this bill
* Working with our allies at the National Center on Sexual Exploitation, who have tirelessly fought to help get this law passed
* Advancing the Traffickinghub campaign, which put a global spotlight on nonconsensual porn—a form of exploitation Pornhub built its empire on

Why does this law matter?

It matters to young women like Serena Fleites—who was featured in the New York Times article "The Children of Pornhub"—because Pornhub refused to take down explicit content of her as a 14-year-old girl.

It was only after Pornhub faced intense public pressure, as a result of the Traffickinghub campaign, that they removed 10 million videos and images suspected of containing nonconsensual or illegal content.

Now, platforms like Pornhub will have to answer to federal law.

This law carries on the astounding momentum generated by the Traffickinghub movement, and people like you who joined the fight.

These breakthroughs happen because of YOUR voice and YOUR generosity.

Exodus Cry is currently engaged in multiple campaigns aimed at uprooting sexual exploitation and trafficking in the porn industry and other realms of the sex trade.
