We want to thank the nearly 500 Californians who joined us for a 12-hour solidarity fast alongside 8 multi-day fasters–– including organizing legend Dolores Huerta–– to send a message to Congress: Don’t Starve CA!
Your participation — your presence, your commitment, your hunger — was deeply felt. From sunrise reflections to evening community calls, this fast became more than a protest. It became a shared plea for justice, compassion, and the basic dignity every person deserves.
We fasted to defend health care, food assistance, education, childcare, veterans' benefits, and other life-saving programs that millions rely on. And though the House of Representatives chose to ignore our call, voting to cut nearly $1 trillion in critical funding to pay for tax breaks for billionaires — we won’t forget their betrayal.
We’ll keep fighting, more determined than ever.
