Dwight Evans Day was a Success!
On May 17, 2025, the West Oak Lane Library was officially renamed the “Dwight Evans Library of West Oak Lane” in honor of Congressman Evans’ decades of service to Philadelphia.
Mayor Cherelle L. Parker, community leaders, and residents gathered to celebrate this milestone.
Thank you so much to everyone who showed up and showed out for Dwight!

🚨 Standing Up for Head Start — and Against Trump’s Reckless Cuts
Last week, Congressman Evans joined Rep. Madeleine Dean, Children First PA, and advocates in Washington to demand full federal funding for Head Start and protect these programs from harmful cuts.
While President Trump and his allies continue pushing reckless budget proposals that would gut Head Start programs nationwide, Congressman Evans is fighting back.
In Pennsylvania alone, over 26,000 children rely on Head Start. In our district, 60 centers provide critical early education, nutrition, and family services — resources that Trump’s proposals would put at risk.
