Team,
When Roe v. Wade was overturned, the Supreme Court turned back the clock and sent reproductive rights back in time.
I was sad and angry, and just as so many of us did in the wake of this decision, I turned those emotions into action. I wrote and introduced the Women’s Health Protection Act to protect those seeking abortions and those performing them.
I will continue to fight until every Wisconsinite can make their own healthcare decisions without government involvement.
But with abortion access in our state in legal limbo, Wisconsin Republicans see a major opportunity to lay the groundwork to attack reproductive rights even further.
This was evident at last weekend’s Wisconsin GOP Convention, where Republican delegates approved a resolution supporting an 1849 abortion law that outlaws all abortions except when necessary to save a woman’s life.
While this vote carries no authority, it is a clear warning of what is to come. The midterm elections present an opportunity for us to make progress — but also for Republicans to turn back the clock on reproductive rights.
I’m not backing down from the challenges ahead. After all, I never gave up the fight to protect marriage equality and get the Respect for Marriage Act passed into federal law.
Progress IS possible when we work together, team. I’m fighting to re-establish our rights and support candidates who will do the same here in Wisconsin and across the country. I’m hoping you can join that fight with a grassroots donation today. Can you chip in?

Thank you for stepping up. I’m not giving up the fight to protect abortion access, and I know you won’t either. I’m glad to have your support.
