Republicans are proposing significant cuts to Medicaid as part of their budget reconciliation package, leaving millions of Americans without the health care they need. 

Let’s call this what it is: Stealing from working families, to line the pockets of the rich. 

The Republican budget isn’t just cruel, it’s dangerous. 30% of my district relies on Medicaid for health care coverage. That means 268,901 people in our community could lose their health care because of this heartless Republican budget. 

If Republicans get their way, those families could lose access to the care they depend on to survive. These are our neighbors, our seniors, our children, and I won’t stand by while Republicans try to strip away health care from millions of people.

Programs like Medicaid are lifelines for millions of Americans, including so many families right here on the South Side of Chicago, which is why I’m fighting like hell in Congress to protect Medicaid, to defend my constituents and every American who counts on this critical program. I’m a strong “NO” vote on their cruel budget.
