Introducing Amy, UNHCR Communications Officer
Dear John,
My name is Amy, and I have the extraordinary privilege of visiting UNHCR’s programmes around the world, meeting my colleagues in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, seeing how their incredible work is saving lives, and helping people who have been forced to flee violence and war.
Many of the people my colleagues are supporting are hardest hit by extreme weather - floods and droughts - compounding the difficulties they are already facing. They have been forced to flee, often with nothing at all, and now they are struggling to feed their families and survive.
Here’s a quick video from me showing some of the challenges people are facing, and how we can respond on the ground with your support([link removed]).
Over the coming weeks my colleague Joshua and I will send you some emails to tell you about some of the places we travelled to in South Sudan and Malawi, the colleagues we met there, and the people they are working every day to support through some of the worst imaginable circumstances.
I want to take this opportunity to also say thank you for helping us be there for people who have lost so much. Your support truly matters([link removed]).
Regards,
Amy Christian,
UNHCR Communications Officer
