The economic impact of COVID-19 isn’t just costing Americans their jobs, but also their health care.

An estimated 27 million Americans have lost their health insurance over the last several months as unemployment rates have soared due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This puts the total number of uninsured at near 55 million.

This is a massive crisis that Matt Gaetz and Republican leaders are not only ignoring, but making worse by trying to repeal Obamacare without a replacement.

It is beyond unacceptable that during the worst pandemic and economic recession of our time, our leaders in Washington are doing nothing to help the 55 million Americans without health insurance.

And now as states reopen and Americans try to return to normalcy, COVID-19 infection rates are on the rise putting the uninsured at greater risk.

This pandemic is a wake-up call. We need to act now to fix our broken healthcare system and ensure that every American can access and afford quality health insurance.
