What does the evidence show about Power Plate and your metabolism?
 
These are 8 key ways that Power Plate usage reprograms your metabolism.  The protocol here is daily 60-120 second warm up each morning, combined with these workouts. 
 
Another great idea is take things you normally do and "put them on the Plate."  Something as simple as 9 minutes of squats and planks in 30-60 second increments can have a powerful impact.
 
Immediate  (“while you’re on the platform”) effects
 
1. Muscle-recruitment reflexes fire 30-50 times a second. Every pulse forces the large postural and deep-core muscles to contract, raising oxygen uptake and caloric burn even during quiet standing or prone sessions. (this also quickly improves balance, reducing risk of falls)
 
2. Transient hormone surge. A single 10-minute bout can push growth-hormone levels up 4- to 26-fold in obese women, mimicking the lipolytic spike you’d expect from heavy resistance work. (Growth hormone increases are strongly correlated with increased collagen and immediate Nitric Oxide production)
 
3. Higher workout density. When vibration is layered onto loaded squats, metabolic power rises significantly without extra sets or reps, while perceived effort stays the same. (Your brain is essentially programmed to be more motivated)
 
Short-term (first 2–4 weeks) adaptations 
 
4. Resting metabolic rate (RMR) goes up. In a 2-week RCT (10 sessions) with healthy young men, RMR rose significantly alongside resting VO₂, while the control group flat-lined. (your fat burning engine has been built and it is humming along)
 
5. Better glucose handling. A 2024 network meta-analysis of 10 RCTs in type-2 diabetes found that vibration trimmed HbA1c by ~1.6 percentage points—outperforming conventional or resistance training. (more sugar is used for energy, less sugar stored as fat)
 
6. Substrate shift. Acute trials show the body leans harder on carbohydrates during and immediately after vibration, then rebounds with elevated lipid oxidation—similar to an interval workout.  (you are training your body to use its own fat reserves for energy.)
 
Longer-term metabolic wins seen in special-population studies
 
7. Metabolic-syndrome makeover. A 2023 systematic review in adults with Met-S reported improvements in body composition, blood-pressure profiles, flexibility and overall quality of life after 8-12 weeks of vibration programs. (Use a Power Plate each day = your metabolism works properly again)
 
8. Downstream body-comp change. Meta-analyses in older or overweight cohorts consistently show gradual fat-mass reduction and lean-mass preservation when WBV is used 3–4× per week for ≥12 weeks (dose-response data summarized in clinical-utility reviews).

When your resting metabolic rate goes up, you will have more energy and motivation.  Your cravings are likely to go down. 
 
--This does not mean you are going to lose magical amounts of weight instantly.
 
--This does mean you are going to have a TON more hope to get back on track with your life.
