World Pride is here, and our city's hosting it! Intersectionality, especially within progressive movements, is as important as ever, and we want to make it clear: NJN stands with the LGBTQIA+ community.

To that end, we want to let you all know about some events that are planned for the next few weeks. We encourage you to attend and participate in the following:

Friday, June 6: Pride Shabbat at Congregation Adas Israel: Join Bet Mispachah, DC's LGBTQ+ Synagogue, the World Congress of LGBT Jews, and other community partners for World Pride Shabbat at Adas Israel Congregation. Join us for a joyous celebration of love, unity, and community. Come together for drinks, snacks, and a warm atmosphere to honor our LGBTQ+ Jewish community. Following the happy hour, we will gather for a World Pride Shabbat service led by Rabbi Jake Singer-Beilin and clergy from around the Washington community. Learn more and purchase tickets HERE.

Saturday, June 7: Pride Parade March: members of our staff will be marching with the Jewish contingent organized by GLOE and Bet Mishpacha. Wear sunscreen and drink lots of water -- it should be a good time, but a very warm outdoors one. Learn more and register HERE.

Friday, June 13: Pride Shabbat at Sixth and I: Rabbi Aaron Potek and the Sixth & I musicians lead an inclusive service celebrating the diversity of DC Jewish life. Hear from Sixth & I community speakers about the impact of LGBTQ+ spiritual safe spaces, a sermon from Rabbi Amelia Wolf of Congregation Etz Hayim, and a performance from the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington Seasons of Love Ensemble. Learn more and purchase tickets HERE.

Let's show up-- loudly, proudly, and intentionally joyfully. We hope to see you around town at these events!

NOTE: We had planned to include the Capital Jewish Museum's exhibit, "LGBTJews in the Federal City," in this list. However, following Wednesday night's attack, the museum and exhibit are temporarily closed. When it re-opens, we look forward to visiting and hope to see you there, too.
