Remind City Council That Black Lives Matter!

Join us on Tuesday, June 16th at 3pm at the Memphis City Hall for a peaceful protest to compel the Memphis City Council to vote "yes" on police reform!

We will demand that City Council pass the 4 police reform measures approved at the June 9th executive session, and in addition:

- take further concrete steps to stop police brutality,
- reject relaxing residency requirements for MPD officers, and
- support 5 demands for greater equity being circulated by the Memphis activist community:

1. Defund harmful policing, in order to:
2. Invest in youth and education,
3. Invest in transit,
4. Invest in housing and community development, and
5. Invest in libraries

(Before the protest, call 901-636-7020 or email [email protected] to let city council know you support these demands! Remember, City Council Chair Patrice Robinson had blocked the resolutions of Martavius Jones, Michalyn Easter-Thomas, and JB Smiley, and was not allowing any resolutions on the floor that addressed police misconduct and reform . . . until you spoke out and forced her to bring those resolutions to a vote!)
