Email from Rep. Van Duyne My House colleagues and I passed the One Big, Beautiful Bill!   Washington, DC – I had a great visit to the SeyTec Headquarters in North Richland Hills. I was able to take a tour of their facility and talk with members of their team. SeyTec is a stocking distributor for Aerospace fasteners and hardware. This week was National Emergency Medical Services Week, a huge thank you to the EMS professionals across North Texas! These dedicated men and women serve our communities and save lives every day. Recently, I had the opportunity to meet with H.E. Sun Chanthol, the Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia. It was great to discuss ways in which we can strengthen our partnership with them. On Monday, President Trump signed the Take it Down Act into law! This critical legislation will protect the privacy, dignity, and safety of young people across the country. This week, I introduced the Regulatory Accountability Act in the House, the companion to Senator Lankford’s Senate bill. The RAA seeks to overhaul the federal regulatory regime by improving the rulemaking process, increasing transparency, and binding judicial deference. I recently had the opportunity to meet with some Texas members of the Safari Club International, during the meeting we were able to talk about their work to defend the freedom to hunt and their promotion of wildlife conservation. It was great to meet with executives visiting Washington with the Korea International Trade Association. We discussed the important partnership between our two countries, and the unique relationship between Texas and the Republic of Korea. Had a wonderful chat with Ashlea Quinonez, she is the newly appointed HUD Regional Administrator for Region VI, based in Fort Worth. I was able to share some wisdom from my time at HUD in the first Trump Administration. You can read more about Ashlea as she is our Hometown Hero this week. On Wednesday, the House Committee on Small Business hosted a Small Business Showcase. Small Business Administrator Loeffler was able to join us as well to meet all of the amazing job creators and small business owners. Thank you to BILT for coming and representing Texas-24! BILT is an award winning app that delivers 3D interactive intelligent instructions. I was also able to catch up with Fort Worth based, Bison Coolers, an amazing company in North Texas that creates hard and soft coolers, as well as drinkware and other outdoor accessories. Had a fantastic meeting with members of President Trump’s newly appointed HUD team. These folks are fired up and ready to deliver real results! It was great reconnecting with longtime colleagues and getting to know some impressive new faces who are ready to hit the ground running. Big things ahead! Early Thursday morning, with my House Republican colleagues, we passed the One Big, Beautiful Bill, delivering on our promises to American families, workers, seniors, and small businesses. To hear my brief remarks on the bill, click on the image below or here. Always great to visit with UT Dallas students, each year rising Sophomores in the McDermott Scholars program get to travel to Washington to learn more about our government, its people, and its history! Texas-24 Work of the Week This week, the House passed the One Big, Beautiful Bill! I am eager to continue working on this bill with my colleagues in the House and Senate, ultimately delivering it to the President’s desk to be signed into law!
