Hello,

While this Pride Month may look and feel different, the message remains the same: None of us is truly equal until every person is afforded the same rights and opportunities.

Although we cannot come together in person this year, Pride is still a time to honor those who fought for their right to live authentically and love who they love.

Today the Supreme Court ruled that the Civil Rights Act of 1964 extends protections to LGBTQ workers from workplace discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. While this is a historic win for the LGBTQ community, it is simply not enough. The LGBTQ community still faces discrimination in housing, access to credit, and many other facets of public life. That is why a bipartisan majority in the House passed the Equality Act -- to ensure that the LGBTQ community is protected from discrimination in every facet of life. One year later, this historic piece of legislation is still sitting on Mitch McConnell's desk in the Senate.

As the first openly gay person from New Hampshire in Congress, this fight is personal to me. By showing your support for the Equality Act, you can help provide the momentum to ensure that LGBTQ Americans no longer face any form of discrimination under the law because of their gender or who they love.

If you believe that LGBTQ Americans deserve equal protection under the law, then add your name to demand McConnell call for a vote on the Equality Act in the Senate.

I will never stop working for our full equality, and I’m grateful to have your support in this fight. This Pride Month I hope you'll celebrate by doing something to move us all closer to our promise of liberty and justice for all.

Thank you,

Chris
