John,
Together, we are changing the fabric of our
nation. And that’s not an exaggeration.
Nearly 10 years ago, we noticed a real problem emerging in our legislatures. There were good things on the horizon—we had many young, energetic,
principled lawmakers stepping up to enter public service. Many of these were
conservative Christians who took office determined to champion legislation that
would uphold their Christian values and protect our basic, God-given freedoms
for generations to come.
But
when they entered office, many of these brave new lawmakers realized they were
not equipped for the challenges they would face.
Decades of resistance to traditional Christian values had built up a wall that
seemed impossible to penetrate. Many found themselves silenced before they
ever got a chance to speak—intimidated by threats of cancellation
if they dared to challenge progressive perspectives. Many who entered office,
determined to stand strong for their values, crumbled under pressure and
fell prey to compromise.
The
message to us was clear—even the most courageous champions of our Christian
values need training and support. We knew from years
of experience that these new advocates for truth needed boldness, prudence,
and the wisdom of veteran lawmakers to stand strong against the many
temptations that come with being a lawmaker.
And
that’s where you come in.
With the support of many friends like you, our
team embarked on a journey to create the Statesmen Academy. The goal was
simple, yet profound: train and equip up-and-coming, conservative Christian
policymakers, primarily state legislators. We aimed for them to become more
courageous and effective—passing legislation, rising in influence and
leadership, and for some, winning leadership positions or higher
offices.
John, what has transpired over these nearly 10 years has exceeded our wildest
dreams. Graduates of the Statesmen Academy are serving
in nearly every state legislature—and they are accomplishing INCREDIBLE
things.
✅The first Help Not Harm
law, drafted by our team to protect kids from
transgender drugs and surgeries, was sponsored and successfully passed by an
Arkansas stateswoman, working in tandem with our allied state group in Little
Rock.
✅Many
other state legislators followed to become sponsors who helped pass Help Not Harm bills into law in 25 states, protecting vulnerable kids in half the
United States!
✅Statesman
Academy graduates have similarly contributed to the passage of Save Girls’ Sports laws in 25 states, preserving safety and fairness in competition for female
athletes by prohibiting male athletes from competing in female sports.
✅Two more Statesmen Academy grads are
currently the lead sponsors of Age Verification bills to block online
pornography for minors.
These
battles are never easy, even in conservative states. But because of support from concerned Americans like you, these
legislators have serious advantages on their side—and believe me when I say
they are truly, deeply thankful for it.
But the truth is that there is much, much more
that needs to be done.
There are more legislators to train, new
issues to address, and more states that desperately need these victories. In
