Unveiling Renderings for the New Pedestrian Walkway in Honor of Colorado’s 150th Birthday in 2026

A digital rendering shows the future pedestrian walkway crossing over Lincoln St., connecting the Colorado State Capitol to the Lincoln Veterans Memorial Park.

I unveiled new renderings of the Colorado 150 Pedestrian Walkway, which will connect Coloradans to Lincoln Veterans Park and commemorate Colorado’s great history.

The Colorado 150 Pedestrian Walkway represents a public-private partnership led by the Governor’s Office and the P3 Office at the Colorado Department of Personnel & Administration alongside History Colorado. The project will serve as a new gateway to downtown Denver and become a major part of ongoing initiatives to revitalize the Civic Center area.

Designed by Studio Gang, the international architecture and urban design firm led by Jeanne Gang, the 11,000 square foot Walkway enhances connectivity and improves accessibility among downtown Denver’s major public spaces and monuments as well as offers a unique experience that brings together art, culture, and history in commemoration of Colorado’s 150th anniversary. This design is reflective of Colorado’s diverse topography, specifically the state’s flowing rivers. The project is expected to be completed in July 2026.

I am thrilled that Coloradans can now visualize this walkway and its positive impact on our community. Now, when Coloradans of all ages come to visit our State Capitol, they can more easily access and enjoy Lincoln Veterans Park while enjoying art from local artists.

On the Road for the 2025 Bill Signing Tour

Following the end of the successful 2025 legislative session, I have been signing bills around the state that deliver real results for Coloradans.

Governor Polis and one of the bill's supporters hold up a large Colorado license plate that reads "KEI LAW" while standing in front of a KEI truck carrying the bill signing table in its truck bed.

I kicked off the bill signing tour by traveling to Fort Collins and Broomfield. To expand freedom in the Free State of Colorado, I signed housing and education bills in addition to the bipartisan HB25-1281 - Title Register & Drive Kei Vehicles. I also visited Harmony Cottages in Fort Collins, a Habitat for Humanity housing development creating 48 new energy-efficient homes for hardworking families.

In Colorado Springs and Pueblo, I signed bills into law to make Colorado safer by strengthening public safety, saving Coloradans and businesses money on energy, expanding access to the healthcare needed to thrive, and supporting Colorado’s advanced industries. In Pueblo West, I visited SkyView Middle School, marking the last of the four 2024 National Blue Ribbon Award Winning schools in Colorado that I have visited.

I signed an Executive Order directing Colorado’s state agencies to work together with the Department of Education to help more post-high school learners access needed credentials. I also signed an Executive Order to help increase Colorado’s housing supply and reduce housing costs.
