Friends and neighbors,

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, I ask you to pause and remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their courage is the reason we wake up each day in a free nation, and we owe them a debt that can never be repaid.

Let us also remember the families who carry the loss of a loved one. Their grief, their sacrifice, and their enduring love for this country deserve our deepest gratitude.

I know it’s easy to think of Memorial Day as just a long weekend. But we also need to remember the real meaning. Freedom has a price, and that price was paid by brave Americans who chose duty over comfort, and country over self.

May God bless our fallen heroes, their families, and the United States of America.
