Mother’s Day might be over, but the fight for working moms isn’t.

As I wrote in the Washington Post last week, American motherhood is in crisis. And Republicans are making it worse.

They’ve attacked reproductive freedom, driven up the cost of living, and gutted support for child care, maternal health, and working families.

Now, they’re proposing cuts to Medicaid — a program that pays for 41% of all births in the U.S.

Donald Trump’s tariffs are hiking up prices on car seats, diapers, and strollers, all while slashing food assistance and defunding programs moms rely on every day.

This isn’t a coincidence. It’s a choice.

Republicans chose tax cuts for billionaires over paid family leave. They chose corporate donors over equal pay for women. They chose political power over reproductive freedom.

But we can choose differently. We can choose moms — and we can start by electing a Democratic House in 2026.
