This Friday, we’re celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. David Paton—a visionary ophthalmologist whose bold ideas helped launch Orbis and our Flying Eye Hospital more than 40 years ago.
Dr. Paton believed that the best way to improve access to eye care was by training local eye teams, an idea that remains at the heart of our mission today. His passion, energy, and belief in teaching others transformed global eye care and inspired generations of health professionals.
