Let me be blunt: This veto is a betrayal of every parent, grandparent, and child who has suffered under Arizona’s corrupt, money-driven family court system.
Before the veto, I chaired nearly six hours of public testimony exposing the horrifying abuses happening behind closed courtroom doors:
- Parents forced to pay $50,000+ a year in mandatory therapy fees
- TIs recommending custody to alleged abusers
- Judges ignoring evidence, issuing orders based on psychologists who never even met the children
- Mothers losing custody for reporting abuse
- Children forced into the care of dangerous adults while loving parents are placed under gag orders and supervised visits they can’t afford
And the worst part? No one is being held accountable.
These so-called “experts” are shielded by quasi-judicial immunity and backed by judges more concerned with protecting their own than protecting children.
That’s why we wrote HB 2256.
To end the forced financial exploitation. To give power back to families. To restore dignity to a broken system.
And what did Hobbs do?
She issued a vague, dismissive veto, claiming the bill might have “unintended consequences.” No explanation. No compassion. No acknowledgement of the real harm being done - only a cold political calculation.
I am telling you: I will not stop until we bring transparency, accountability, and justice back to Arizona’s family courts.
But I cannot do this alone. I need your help to stay in the Senate and finish what we started. Hobbs and her allies will fight tooth and nail to keep this system intact - and they’re coming for reformers like me in 2026.
I’m not afraid to confront that system - but I need you in my corner. Will you support me today with whatever you can spare - $4, $14, $24, $42 - no amount is too small or too big to make a difference. Will you do this today for me and for our state?
Let’s give Arizona’s families a voice they can trust.
