Developmental Disabilities Community Services




*WA Developmental Disabilities: New Name. Same Mission.*

On May 1, 2025, as part of Reimagine DSHS, community services for children and adults with developmental disabilities gained a new name: Developmental Disabilities Community Services (DDCS). Although we are now working as a division within the newly formed Home and Community Living Administration, our leadership, mission and values [ [link removed] ] remain the same. We strive to help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities live and thrive in their chosen communities with the supports they choose.  

*We Are Still Here*

We want to assure everyone who received services under the former Developmental Disabilities Administration:


* You will continue to have the same services and providers, with the same rights to choose where and how you live.
* Your case manager is still your main contact for your services and supports.
* Our phone numbers and emails [ [link removed] ] will stay the same.
* If you receive services in your community, you will continue to receive case management through HCLA, even if your provider is a state-operated program in the Behavioral Health and Habilitation Administration.
* HCLA will continue to support people who want to move from Residential Habilitation Centers and other facility-based care to the community.

*We Are Listening*

These changes reflect a focus on making it easier for people to access the supports they need. Organizational shifts are just the beginning.
