Early this morning, Republicans passed a disastrous, immoral budget that strips health care and food assistance away from millions of kids and the most vulnerable Americans.

I’ll be candid: This is a disappointing setback. My Democratic colleagues and I used every tool available at our disposal to delay this vote and force Republicans to grapple with their unconscionable cuts. But Republicans passed it anyway in the dead of night, when the vast majority of Californians were fast asleep.

This regressive budget scheme is indefensible. It rips resources away from the people who need it most, including food from hungry children and health care from pregnant women.

And for what? Yet another massive tax giveaway to billionaires like Elon Musk. While the GOP and its ultra-wealthy donors are laughing all the way to the bank, hardworking California families are the ones footing the bill.

But I want to be clear: This fight isn’t over yet. The GOP’s tax scam is now on its way to the Senate, and you can be sure as hell that my Democratic colleagues and I will keep fighting until the very last minute to kill this catastrophic legislation.

That’s why I needed to ask: Will you sign my new petition urging the Senate to vote NO on this MAGA budget bill?
