These new laws ban sanctuary city policies in our communities and restore law enforcement’s ability to cooperate fully with federal immigration authorities. I was honored to support these bills every step of the way and speak in favor of their passage in Concord.
Let me be clear—this isn’t about politics. It’s about public safety and the rule of law. We’ve taken the handcuffs off our police and given them the tools they need to work with ICE to detain and deport criminal illegal aliens who threaten our communities.
As I said at Governor Ayotte's bill signing today:
“We are taking the handcuffs off of our law enforcement officers, and hopefully, they’ll be able to work with our federal government and ICE to put the handcuffs on the criminal illegal aliens that are violating and disobeying our laws.”
These laws are a major step forward for our state, and I applaud Governor Ayotte for her strong leadership.
