The Republican-controlled House of Representatives just passed Donald Trump’s “big beautiful” tax scam bill, and in reality, there’s nothing beautiful about it:
Their bill slashes Medicaid and rips away SNAP benefits in order to hand an enormous tax break to the wealthiest people in the country — all while regular New Mexicans are left scrambling to access health care or put food on the table.
As a young mother putting herself through law school, Deb counted on food stamps to feed her child, with tortillas and pinto beans often being the only things on their dinner table.
Now she’s running for governor because New Mexicans deserve a leader who understands what it means to struggle, and who will work tirelessly to make the system work better for New Mexico families — not just the billionaires backing Trump’s administration.
