New solicitations
DES starts solicitation for employment and income verification and public records search services contract
DES is developing a solicitation for an employment and income verification and public records search services contract, which will succeed statewide contract 00220. The current contract expires in mid-2026.
Services on this contract can be used to confirm previous employment of a job applicant, determine client eligibility for state/government benefits, and do public record searches. We want your feedback to better understand the current needs and potential volume of sales, and to help decide next steps. We also want feedback on additional categories may support your needs, such as legal research services.
If your agency uses or might use these services, please complete a short survey by May 30.

Reminder: File your sole source contracts as soon as possible!
If you have a sole source contract or amendment that requires filing, it’s a good idea to file it now! You must file and have DES approval before the end of the fiscal year (June 30) in order to start work July 1. Filing early can help you avoid last-minute delays and potential compliance issues.
While DES will do its best to complete all filings before the end of the fiscal year, please note that the policy requires at least 15 business days to process sole source filings. Any filings DES receives after June 6 cannot be reviewed by the June 30 fiscal year end. This means that contracts associated with those filings will not receive approval by June 30 and, if signed or carried out prior to DES approval, may be out of compliance with RCW 39.26.140.
