John,
Today, House Republicans passed Trump’s cruel budget reconciliation bill in a 215 - 214 vote, and let’s call it like it is – this bill takes from the poor to give tax cuts to billionaires and corporations.
Now this bill heads to the Senate, where we still have a chance to stop it! Tell your Senator to vote NO on the Reconciliation bill. ([link removed])

Make no mistake – this bill hurts regular people. It cuts $300 billion for food assistance (SNAP benefits) and $800 billion for Medicaid, while providing $1.1 trillion in tax cuts for people earning more than $500,000 a year. The bill is also terrible for the environment, and has provisions to speed up fossil fuel pipeline permits and gas exports.
This approach is extremely unpopular – it’s why House Republicans moved to advance this bill in the middle of the night. They’re trying to ram these changes through in the hopes that people won’t notice what they’re doing.
Now, pressure from constituents – even on Senators who may seemingly not care – makes a difference, especially when we still have time to stop this terrible bill!
Take action today: Urge your Senator to vote no on Trump’s cruel budget Reconciliation bill. ([link removed])

We know that pressure from constituents works. Despite the terrible cuts in the House bill, thanks to immense public pressure, and tens of thousands of calls and messages from members like you, we were able to stop some really bad proposals from being included.
Together, we won:
No cuts to school lunch programs that feed millions of children across the country
No REINS Act, which attacks agencies’ ability to put regulations in place that keep our food and water safe
No changes to municipal bonds, critical to funding local clean water infrastructure
No ability for the Trump administration to attack the nonprofit status of organizations that disagree with him
No ability for carbon pipeline companies to preempt state laws to force their projects through
No sell-off and privatization of public lands in Nevada and Utah
Now it’s time to keep the pressure up! In the coming weeks, we’ll be pouring our efforts into opposing extreme cuts to food, water, health, and safety.
This fight isn’t over. Send your message to your Senator today! ([link removed])
Onward together,
