While most of us were asleep last night, Republicans passed a bill that hands out more tax breaks to billionaires and leaves us worse off — while adding to the national debt in the process. 

Their “big, beautiful bill,” as they call it:

• Rips away food assistance from nearly 11 million Americans, including working families in the San Fernando Valley.
• Slashes Pell Grants for over 4 million students, making college even harder to afford. 
• Guts Medicaid, putting 14 million Americans at risk of losing their health care. 
• Cuts funding for housing, reproductive health, and clean energy — programs millions of Californians count on. 

Republicans are selling us out, and it’s time to fight back.

For too long, Washington insiders have looked the other way while extreme Republicans and corporate interests write the rules. They’ve played it safe while the rest of us have been left to deal with the consequences.
