Comrades,
In the face of growing authoritarianism, environmental degradation, and economic exploitation, the values of solidarity and direct action are more vital than ever. Solidarity is not just a sentiment—it is a practice of standing together across lines of race, class, gender, and ability, refusing to let any member of our community face oppression alone. It is the foundation upon which we build collective power. Direct action, meanwhile, reminds us that real change does not come from politely asking the powerful to do better, but from ordinary people organizing and confronting injustice at its roots. By acting together, we challenge systems that thrive on isolation and apathy, and we show the world—and ourselves—that another way is not only possible, but necessary.
In Santa Fe, we have tangible opportunities to put these principles into action. Whether it’s supporting local labor organizing, participating in eviction defense, showing up for reproductive justice campaigns, or joining community mutual aid projects, each effort brings us closer to the just, liberated society we are fighting for. These actions are more than symbolic—they are the seeds of real change, rooted in local struggle and guided by democratic, collective effort. The time to act is now, and the path forward begins with each of us stepping up in unity. Let's build that future together.
In solidarity,
Santa Fe DSA
