Friend, early this morning House Republicans passed a budget bill that will have devastating consequences for America’s future.

Millions of Americans now face the threat of losing their healthcare coverage, food assistance, and other crucial programs that keep working families afloat.

But it’s not just assistance for working families that is being cut — this bill includes an all-out assault on clean energy and climate.

One of the biggest legislative accomplishments of this movement has been the climate provisions passed under the IRA in 2022, including Green New Deal priorities that I led the charge on passing in the Senate.

But the billionaires giveaway that passed the House this morning would put an end to a hugely consequential piece of that legislation: Tax credits for wind, solar and battery storage projects. Tax credits that are creating jobs and reviving manufacturing across our nation.

And the worst part is? They’re slashing these tax credits so they can afford another huge tax break for billionaires and major corporations who are directly responsible for the climate crisis we face today.

I am on the Hill right now speaking out against these attacks on clean energy, and I’m gearing up to fight back alongside my Democratic colleagues.

Because this bill doesn’t get to the President's desk without going through the Senate first. And I am going to do everything in my power to ensure that these crucial tax credits are restored and the jobs they create are protected.
