'Republicans advance bill with steep cuts to Medicaid as part of Trump agenda'

Last night the Republican House majority approved a budget plan that would be one of the cruelest pieces of legislation ever passed in the modern era. Experts say it would be the largest transfer of wealth from the poor to the wealthy in American history.

Over 13 million people would lose their Medicaid coverage, and at least 8 million would be left completely uninsured.

Over 18 million kids could lose access to free school meals that they rely on.

SNAP benefits face cuts of up to 30%, which would leave at millions who live below the poverty line without the food assistance they need.

All while lowering the tax bills of the wealthiest people on the planet — billionaires like Trump and Elon Musk.

This entire fiasco shows why it’s vitally important to retake the House and Senate in next year’s midterm elections.

If we had just a few more votes in the House, we could have stopped this bill from leaving the House. If we had just a few more votes in the Senate, we could block this bill from ever reaching Trump’s desk.

That’s why these elections matter. They are the difference between forward progress and huge steps backwards.
