Dear John,

Stories often outlast the spaces in which they were created, but both
shape how history is told and whose truths are protected. When the
environment is compromised, so is the memory, meaning, and cultural
truth embedded in that place.

On Thursday, May 29, we're hosting a conversation about Cultural
Sustainability: Protecting the Assets and Narrative of Our Multiracial
Democracy through Preservation. This session explores how preservation
can be a tool for justice, connection, and collective future-making.
We'll dig into how cultural sustainability protects community memory—and
what that looks like in practice across fields.
