Folks,
Donald Trump’s actions this week should alarm every single American:
- Trump has officially accepted a luxury jet from Qatar – blatantly defying the Constitution that explicitly prohibits any officeholder from accepting a gift without consent from Congress.
- The Trump administration “unquestionably” defied a court order by deporting migrants to war-torn South Sudan.
- Meanwhile, Trump is jamming his “Big Beautiful Bill” through Congress, ripping health care from millions of Americans while giving the richest Americans massive tax breaks.
So I have to ask: How the hell can any of my Republican colleagues in the Senate stay silent in the face of these egregious actions by the President of the United States?
Folks, I don’t say that lightly. I’ve been involved in every bipartisan deal made in the past decade. I’m proud of the work I’ve done to cross partisan divides.
But frankly, if my Republican colleagues can’t find their voice at this moment, they prove that taking back the Senate for Democrats is the only way we can hold Trump accountable.
And my gosh, we can’t let this stand.
