We have an exciting announcement to share with you today: We have officially endorsed Jessica Anderson for the VA House of Delegates, District 71.
Jessica is challenging the Republican incumbent, Amanda Batten, who is blatantly anti-choice. This session, her opponent voted AGAINST a bill that would have protected access to birth control AND she has already voted “NO” on our amendment to enshrine abortion access in the VA Constitution.
Jessica firmly believes that the right to one’s bodily autonomy and the ability to control one's own reproductive destiny are essential, including access to contraception and abortion. In 2023, Jessica came within 700 votes of FLIPPING THIS SEAT – with abortion on the line, it’s time to finish the job.

Jessica has made a central focus of her campaign platform to ensure that Virginia codifies access to abortion in our state constitution and to ensure every Virginian has access to quality, affordable health care, which includes access to reproductive care.

"As a mother with three daughters, I understand the importance of ensuring we protect their reproductive rights in Virginia, pass the amendment to enshrine reproductive freedom into our Constitution, and remain a sanctuary state in the South for individuals from other nearby states who need to travel here to access care.”
This is a very flippable seat: According to the Virginia Mercury, in 2024, Harris beat Trump in this district by 5 points, and U.S. Senator Tim Kaine saw similar results against his Republican challenger. This is a purple district and a great opportunity to ensure we maintain control of the House and can protect abortion access.
